The Orlú Valley, a paradise to enjoy with the family

I'm very excited to launch this blog !!! First because of my relationship with the brand and the people behind it and secondly, to be able to explain some of the many excursions we have done this summer. We all know that he painted badly and in the end, in our house, it has been a happy summer and practically lived and enjoyed 100% outdoors.
So ... without more ... do you know the Orlú Valley? To locate yourself, you will find it 5 km from Ax-Las-Thermes and it is a beautiful valley dominated by the imposing Diente De Orlú and where you will also find the well-known Orlú National Wildlife Reserve.
Among all those that we discovered, I will tell you about our excursion to the De en Beys Refuge, a good round with a good slope and many charms along the way.
To get to the starting point we take the Las Forges de Orlú road and follow it to the Fanguil parking lot where we leave the car (€ 2.5 / day). From here starts a forest track that is rising up following the Oriége river. We walk this first section between beech trees and with good views of the Diente de Orlú. Once the road clears and we arrive at the plans in Gaude, it is more than likely that in summer we will see marmots because we are in the choir of the national reserve.
We cross the plans, in full sun this yes, and We come to a small bridge from where we continue up a little path inside the beech forest. It is true that the shadow of the beech tree is appreciated and the games of lights are spectacular.
When we come out of the trees the path continues with a steep zigzag climb to“ open field ”And when we have gained a good height it winds horizontally until suddenly we are surprised by the views of the Etang de en Beys.

To get to the refuge we will still have to make a small section bordering the lake by a path that is threaded above it. At the refuge you can eat, drink and spend the night. If you want to sleep, you have to book in advance and you think that they only accept cash payments. We did not have a penny and after 4 hours climbing we would have eaten a good ice cream!
The descent is done by undoing the same path by which we have risen and if, how us, you are calm and it is getting late you will enjoy the last lights of the day between the trees.

Hope you liked it.
